The Visit Team
Ed Olsworth-Peter

care and support of those in the theatre community with creativity as a writer and director.
As a student in Oxford he performed with OUDS and the Trinity Players. In 2004 he co-founded

Darren Raymond
Director, Artistic Director of Intermission Theatre
As an actor Darren has always believed that the written word when in performance has a power to
engage and transform.
Darren has been engaged as a contributor to new works by other writers; has had his poetry published
in the Guardian, taken the lead in numerous Shakespearian and commercial tours including the title role
of Othello, and recently received the Serena Neville Prize for work of excellence through the Concordia
Foundation.
Darren has just completed post-production on his 30-minute film, Shoot and Score, for which he was
responsible for writing and assistant directing. The film features the noted actress Cathy Tyson and
is directed by Leon Herbert.
Intermission Theatre’ first production Cracking the Whip was directed and co-written by Darren and played
to full houses and great acclaim.
Darren’s second play, Prison Wings, will be opening here at Intermission in the first week of May 2008.
Details will be on the web site shortly.

Joanne Sandi
Deputy Stage Manager and Verger
Actress, Dancer, Singer with various film, theatre and TV rolls to her credit; currently starring
as a receptionist in the Boots Christmas Campaign. She also features in the film Mamma Mia as part
of the ensemble. Out next year.
Joanne has a love of the theatre be it as a cast member, (such as the lead in Homeward Bound directed
by Eammon Walker) or behind the scenes, and has thoroughly enjoyed honing her skills as Assistant on
Intermission’s previous show Cracking the Whip and on this production.
Be it chewing her way to the top as Cindy in the Wrigleys ad for Hollyoaks or dancing to a backdrop of
ABBA Hits, this bright young star is one to watch in 2008.

Janine Gillion
Production Manager
Since the birth of Intermission Janine’s passion for theatre has been realised in becoming a
‘Missioner to the Arts’. This enables her to not only be involved with the creation of productions at
Intermission Theatre and also to support the cast and crew of all past and present Intermission
supported projects.
Her understanding of theatre has come from her Drama School training and work as a professional actor,
which has gone hand in hand with her passion for teaching. She is married to Rob. Marrying an actor
who became a vicar has meant that God and the theatre, for her, always go hand in hand.
