Rob Gillion
Mr Thompson
Rob was a professional actor for the first fourteen years of his working life before being called to serve in the Church. Rob’s faith, combined with his background as a professional actor/director are the founding blocks for the birth of the creative vision and Theatre Church at St Saviours, named Intermission. Intermission supports, encourages, nurtures and serves those who work in the professional theatre or in other branches of the arts. Last year saw a new and exciting development in the birth of Intermission’s own professional theatre company under the artistic direction of Darren Raymond. Do keep an eye out for future productions. Rob’s involvement with the arts goes beyond the walls of St Saviour’s. He is a member of the Archbishops’ College of Evangelists with special responsibility for Arts and Media, Chaplain to The Palace Theatre, London and Chairman of the Actors’ Church Union with responsibility for Theatre Chaplains. Rob is also a full time vicar of two churches, Area Dean of Chelsea and freelance broadcaster appearing regularly for Terry Wogan on BBC Radio Two.

Janine Gillion
Miss Edwards
Janine has always combined her work as a professional actor and teacher. As an actor she has played such diverse rolls as Inez in Jean Paul Sartre’s ‘In Camera’, Nina in Chekhov’s ‘The Seagull’, Mrs Cheverly in Oscar Wilde’s ‘An Ideal Husband’ and Hermione in Shakespeare’s ‘A Winters Tale’. Film credits include ‘Grunt” by Andy Murrow and an independent educational film focusing on ‘Commedia dell’arte’. Janine has more recently been involved in numerous professional play readings of new plays for a variety of playwrights. At Intermission she has been asked to perform in various productions creating characters from pantomime fairies, a vicar’s wife, a dying widow, a menopausal Lancastrian and a forty year old virgin! Since the birth of Intermission Janine has worked along side her husband The Rev Rob Gillion as a Missioner to the Arts supporting the ministry and combining her love of theatre with her love of God.
