Darren Raymond
Writer/Director
Darren Raymond is fast becoming one of London’s most exciting playwrights. He is a graduate of the London
Shakespeare Workout and has studied with such legendary people as Sylvia Syms and Cicely Berry. Darren has
always believed in the power of the written word and its ability to transform, hence Intermission’s strap-line of
'Acting to Re-Direct'. His theatre pieces are always direct and cutting edge yet offer up an element of hope, for
without hope we are lost. He has had four plays professionally performed and 12.30am sees the second play
in which he has collaborated with Fabian Spencer. His previous play WASTED!, written for Intermission
Youth Theatre, will be returning in November this year by popular demand. Darren’s first ever short film Shoot
and Score was short-listed and shown at the 2008 Pan African film festival in Los Angeles. His theatre credits
as an actor are numerous with a broad range of performances from Shakespeare’s Othello to Karma at
the Tricycle.

Fabian Spencer
Writer
Fabian Spencer is a graduate of LSW Dream Factory where he studied alongside such legendary personages as Janet
Suzman, Mark Rylance, Sheila Reid and Cicely Berry, to mention but a few. Fabian has always been a songwriter and
poet with his first professional sonnet published in The Guardian in 2005. He collaborated with Che Walker to
transform existing play Been So Long into a musical which had great acclaim after playing at The Young
Vic and transferring to Edinburgh. His next collaboration was with Darren Raymond for Intermission, writing a new
drama Cracking The Whip and this transferred to Caux, Switzerland. This next piece, 12.30am is a
play close to Fabian’s heart. Drawing from his colourful past and his experience as a father of four, he brings to
the foreground pressing and topical issues that are very much prevalent today.
